Title: Curse the Darkness
Fandom: Phantasy Star IV
Characters: Chaz, Profound Darkness
Rating: PG-13/Gen
Words: 200
Challenge: 62 - Profound
Tags: endgame, minor spoilers
Summary: Chaz and comrades square off against the Profound Darkness.
'The Profound Darkness' - that was what both the Abbott and the mysterious celestial entity known as Le Roof had called their ultimate enemy. Facing the demon here in a realm of pure chaos, Chaz understood why it bore that name. All around them, raging storm clouds of raw energy melted and swirled in sickening, constantly changing colours, the essence of Techniques gone wildly out of control in quantities that they shouldn't be able to survive contact with, should not ever have seen as mortals in a physical dimensions if it wasn't for the ragged scar within reality torn by this... beast. Wild, seething malice, pure antipathy towards everything that existed... had it been this far gone before its imprisonment? Had it been driven insane by millennia trapped in this void? It didn't matter - he had taken up the sword of an ancient heroine and sworn to fight for Algol's future. It attacked first with black tendrils but he was already leaping, swinging the Elsydeon in a wide arc. The ancient Laconian blade sang, cutting a sliver of silvery blue, causing the thing to scream as holy fire burned it. The final battle for the solar system had begun.
