Title: A Hideaway with a View

Summary: After a few heists, Vaan and Penelo can afford more than one residence, and it is just as well. For their own safety, and for visitors whose identity should also not be disclosed.

“So, this is home away from home,” Basch says, removing the helmet of Gabranth for the first time now that the door is closed. The natural light is bright, causes him to squint as his eyes adjust to the soft greens and yellows flooding the room. There is flora everywhere there is a shelf or a hook to house it. Those too big for shelves and hooks rest potted and healthy upon shining, wooden floors. The whole place embodies warmth.
“It’s no Lowtown,” Penelo laughs. “The heat here is like Rabanastre, but at least Dalmasca stays pretty dry.” She grins and begins to help him remove his armor.
Basch hums in agreement, scouring his pockets for a handkerchief to dab the sweat from his neck. Penelo beats him to it with a cool, damp cloth. “Why Rozarria?” he asks, inadvertently leaning in to her touch. “Why not Balfonheim?”
“Smells too fishy,” Penelo responds with a scrunch of her nose. “Vaan likes it there, but I always wanted a yard.”
“For more plants?” Basch asks, ducking beneath a rather intrusive vine.
“And children,” Penelo adds with a wave of her hand. “When I’m ready.”
With whom?, Basch nearly asks, but doesn’t.
