A thing Tyler learned almost as soon as Joseph was capable of speech: children are way too fucking honest.
Or, he got it from Mickey.
Her girlfriend-wife was weirdly blunt and honest for someone with quite the long list of secrets. Tyler had to gentle-parent her into holding back loudly whispered comments. Mickey might not intend to sound mean, but she easily did sound mean.
But even then, Mickey had some level of filter, which Joseph was still a few years away from learning. Every outing meant five or so “sorrys” from Tyler to amused-looking people.
Like mom, like son.
