Slayers are destined to live a short, solitary existence.
That’s the ominous knowledge that’s been passed along for generations; the inevitable death sentence looming over every new Chosen One the second their powers are awakened.
Now, as I stand at the edge of Sunnydale’s crater, hundreds of Slayers are rising, changing forever the rules of the game.
Whether it’s a good change or not, it’s too early to tell; surely their existence will be nothing like mine.
Gone is the “one girl in all the world” with her solitary burden.
Clutching Spike’s lighter, I know that I’ll keep carrying mine.
