Buffy stopped for a moment in the foyer to listen to Andrew’s tale of how he’d survived a vampire bite, barely escaping with his life.
While the Potentials were hanging on his every word, Buffy just rolled her eyes at his theatrics and walked to the kitchen, where Giles was sipping some tea.
“Don’t you want to join the girls and hear everything about Andrew’s chilling near-death experience?” she asked, pouring herself a glass of water.
He groaned. “No, thanks. I already caught the gripping tale of Spike’s journey from slayer of Slayers to souled vampyr, champion of the good.”
“He told them about the two Slayers?” she asked, annoyed.
“Frankly, I’m surprised that you hadn’t told them already. It’s a big deal.”
“Since when?”
Giles took his glasses off. “Since always. Buffy, you’re underestimating the danger posed by Spike.”
“And you’re forgetting that he got his ass handed to him every single time he tried to fight me.”
“That doesn’t make it okay to have his chip removed! It was a rash and reckless decision,” he said curtly.
“It was killing him, Giles. And he’s got a soul now. That’s the big deal.”
“It isn’t.”
“It is for me.”
