Summary: Peter pondered as he munched on a cookie.
"Sure is strange," Mike mentioned, thumbing through a stack of bills, "to be takin' money from ol' Babbitt, instead of givin' money to him."
"That's something I never thought I'd live to see," Micky responded over a bottle of pop. "Of course, he did seem terribly reluctant to hand the money over to us."
"At least he did. Frankly, I'm amazed that he didn't decide to take it out of our rent," Davy pointed out. "We'll probably end up having to give at least some of that back to him, anyway."
Peter pondered as he munched on a cookie. "As long as we're on the subject of being handed one surprise after another by our landlord," he said, "just think about the fact that he actually hired us to play at his niece's birthday party. And he saw us becoming a real hit, and admitted that we're better musicians than he thought we were."
Mike laughed, shaking his head. "I guess maybe we mighta misjudged Babbitt, 'cuz he sure seems ready to confess that he misjudged us. But let's not all hold out too much hope that he's a changed man. Next thing we know, he'll probably double our rent."
