Lather builds up in her hands until the water turns to milk; only then does she set the soap bar aside.

Pomegranate and other sweetness rises with the steam. A small luxury necessity she allows herself under the pretense reason that the shards hostels give out barely serve to wash one's hands, and leave a sebaceous feel on her skin. With how much they travel at sunless hours for long distances, this larger bar of soap will last longer and besides–

Kisame laughed then. Amused and awkward –never snide– and said nothing.

Shame settles. Konan hugs her knees.

And weeps.
