Summary: They will rebuild. Together.
Gale-force winds howled all around her, but she was not afraid. Thunder and lightning clashed ever closer to their bodies, and the ship rocked in the churning seas. Still, she was not afraid. In life, Ororo had never once been fearful of the weather -- it was hers, by Nature's right after all, to command -- but in her dreams, there was another reason why she was not afraid. She had the distinct sense that, under other circumstances, she might have been afraid of the hurricane raging all around them.
But she was not. Her heart beat faster as a strong voice snarled in her ear, "BRACE YERSELF!", but it had nothing to do with fear. Instead, the very presence of the man whose hard, muscular body curved around hers, trying to protect from the storm, heightened her every sense, racing her heart, thrilling her like a bird who had just learned to soar. And she was soaring with this man! They would soar together throughout life, throughout everything anyone could throw at them, Demons or below (or above)... Nothing could best them together.
Her dreams suddenly shattered as voices screamed somewhere nearby in reality. Her bright, blue eyes popped open, but it was only the voices of the students outside. It sounded as though they may actually be playing a game this Saturday morn. She smiled, the gesture easing the lines from her tired face, as she thought fondly over several baseball games she had played with her family over the decades she had been with this school. Perhaps she could interest Logan in a game at some near point in the future, but she knew, when they woke, they had very serious matters at hand to attend.
They had to rebuild yet again, the school, the team, their family -- But they would do it! They would do it together, as they had so oft in the decades they had been here. Except they had something new, a more carnal union of not just their souls but their very bodies. They had understood each other better than anyone else for several decades now. This was also not their first time of loving each other physically and spiritually, but their bond this time was closer than it ever had been before. Her wedding ring gleamed in the early morning sun where it curved around Logan's bare shoulder.
He grunted in his sleep; she snuggled closer, too content to want to move and face the day. There were many matters to be covered today, and they had lost friends and family yet again. But they would build again, closer and better than ever before. They would lead who remained, together, through the winds and storms of life. They would overcome every hurricane. They would overcome every peril with which they were faced, together. This time, she wasn't letting her life partner go no matter what it took. They would build together, and they would reign together, as they'd always been meant, Queen and King.
