Buffy glanced at Spike from the corner of her eye, wondering why she’d let him talk her into staking out this old warehouse.
Sure, he’d claimed to have a lead on the vampire who’d slaughtered all those passengers on the train, but somehow being confined with Spike in his car made her more uncomfortable than knowing there was a bloodthirsty vampire on the loose.
A murderous demon on a rampage was just a regular Tuesday in Buffyville. A stakeout with Spike—who might or might not be harboring unrequited feelings for her—reached a DEFCON 1 state of alert on her creep-o-meter.
Part of her wished that Dawn had kept her mouth shut about her “Spike is completely in love with you” crazy-ass theory.
Buffy was so wigged out at the mere idea that she bounced on the seat and yelped when Spike reached for the glove compartment to take his flask out. And why in the world was he offering her a sip? Ew! This whole situation would be the final nail in the coffin of her sanity if she didn’t figure out what was going on in that bleached head of his.
Okay, maybe right after slaying those warehouse vampires.
