Perhaps, Erica thought as she glanced from the readings on her tablet to the smoking carnage at the other end of the testing dome, she had overdone things a bit.
She'd been asked to see if she could raise the output potential on a beam rifle, and it was certainly possible to do it with the new generation of mobile suits, but...
Just because she could didn't necessarily mean she should.
She reached to turn on her headset.
"Excellent job. How did it feel?" she asked her test pilot.
For a moment, there was silence.
Then her suspicions were confirmed.
