Exhaustion hung like a haze through the mansion and Mephisto himself wasn't immune to it. Teresa had come to play again and stayed for four days before being tempted away by Angie's energetic company.
"Dismiss everyone for the day," Mephisto told Lucius before pouring himself into the nearest chair. "Then dismiss yourself..."
Lucius nodded. "I'll inform the other servants, but I'd just assume remain and see to anything you might need."
Mephisto nearly assured Lucius that he could feed himself, but a quiet evening with Lucius sounded surprisingly appealing.
"Then stay," he said.
They both found the energy to smile.
