“Babe, you’ve got mail,” said Buffy, walking into the living room while shuffling through a pile of envelopes. “Postcard from Italy.”
Spike turned off the TV, frowning. “Who do we know in Italy?”
“Andrew,” she grinned, handing him the mail.
“Bugger…” he mumbled, snatching and reading the postcard without enthusiasm. “He wrote to say he went rowing with some Watchers, fell overboard, and almost drowned.”
“Riveting,” she commented dryly, glaring at her envelopes.
Spike groaned, tossing the postcard on the coffee table. “What the hell is his problem?”
Buffy sat beside him. “Everyone knows he has a crush on you.”
“So? I don’t give a sod about his stupid rowing incident.”
“Wanna open this pile of bills with me, instead? It’s exciting,” she said, handing him the envelopes.
Spike turned them in his hand. “I shouldn’t even have to pay bills. I’m dead.”
“In a way, so am I,” she shrugged. “Hey, maybe we ended up in a bill-paying hell dimension.”
“Well, at least we also get to have a lot of sex. It makes the bill-paying a tad more bearable,” he said, winking.
Buffy tossed the mail on the floor, straddling him. “Why don’t we start with that, then?”
