“Morning, Giles,” said Buffy, walking into his house.
He lifted his gaze from the newspaper, glancing at the clock. “Good morning. You’re uncharacteristically early.”
“I stopped by the butcher to stock up on pig’s blood for your fanged houseguest,” she said, making a face.
Giles groaned. “We must find a different solution, I can’t keep him here, he’s terribly demanding!”
“You git!” Spike’s voice barked from the bathroom. “I only asked you to put the telly on for ‘Passions’! Timmy was down the bloody well and you made me miss it!”
Buffy snorted. “A vamp who loves soap-operas. So lame.”
“I heard you, missy!” growled Spike.
She rolled her eyes, raising her voice. “Oh no! What are you gonna do, glare at me?”
“Buffy, please,” pleaded Giles. “You get him all riled up and then I must deal with the fallout.”
“Sorry. He’s just so irritating!” she whispered. “And I think he’s getting a kick out of it, because he knows we can’t hurt him if he’s harmless.”
Giles sighed. “I wish I had a well, so I could dump him down there and get some peace.”
“I’ll help you find a solution, Giles,” said Buffy, with a reassuring smile.
