Nervously, Chandler regarded her, wondering if it would be worth the risk if he encouraged her. "Well, you already told us about being a nurse in the Civil War. I wouldn't expect it to get much more interesting than that."

She shook her head. "Nah; that one's pretty mundane, if you look past the loss of limbs."

"Okay, then. What is your most interesting past life," he dared to ask.

"I was a ferret once."

Chandler watched her, before prompting: "...and?"
