Title: Honoring Her Sensei

Summary: Kitty honors Wolverine as best she can.
She sits in a place that, as a kid, she would have thought impossible. The great Wolverine could not have been killed -- especially not been killed stayed dead. But the bastards had managed just that at long last, hadn't they? She was sure Creed was behind it, although he seemed too much of a muscle-bound moron to be able to pull off something like this, not only using Logan's own adamantium against him but also carrying his body parts to different, hiding places throughout the world.
He wasn't buried here. His favorite pair of cowboy boots, his favorite hat, Hell, even his favorite mug are beneath this cold, stone monument. if they had made it a simple cross like in the old cowboy movies he'd so loved, he might have approved, but as it is, she's certain he doesn't give a damn about what they've done to honor his memory. She's going to have a monument built to him one of these days, but she doubts he'd approve of that either.
All their lives were changed by the X-Men. All of them were changed by the Professor. But the man whose favorite belongings rest underneath Kitty's feet is the one being who shaped her life more than any other. She'd been awed by him from almost the moment when she'd first been introduced to him, and they'd been through so much together. She shakes her head slowly, taking another swig. "I don't know how I'm going to do it without you, Logan, but I will. I'll keep going. These bastards won't take us both down. I'll get your vengeance and your revenge," she promises, pouring the rest of their favorite whiskey onto the grass. She will live for him, but she's also going to kill the bastards who killed him.
