Time was supposed to heal all wounds. Their relationship with time wasn't exactly a normal one, though. Even here at the actual end of the Universe, the last possible day of a timeline, the wound felt fresh. His absence was glaring.
His loss wasn't the only tragedy, either. They'd been unable to stop a catastrophe that they knew would ultimately lead to the Apocalypse. They'd watched helplessly as an entire civilisation fell. Their surprising new ally had lost his sister, too.
If they were going to pick up the pieces, they'd need a way to act outside of time, too.
